Yamaha MT 15
Since Yamaha MT-15 has only been released on India ,
and yet to be launched in Nepal. We are reviewing based on the other reviews
and comments about this bike.
Design and Features
Based on its look, people seem to like or hate but
surely they cannot ignore it. Some might find it beautiful, some might not. It
may not be good looking in the conventional sense, but presence it certainly
has. The futuristic and aggressive front end is accentuated by the twin slot
daytime running lights(DRLs), between which sits the headlight, giving the
MT-15 an almost robotic, Transformers-like face. Due to its sculpted fuel tank,
extended radiator shrouds, and plastic belly pan, it has got that muscular
looks. The rear end is proportionate and sleek, with a nice LED taillight
finishing up the tail section neatly. If it’s one angle from which the MT-15
looks best, at least to my eyes, it will be from the rear three-quarters.
Performance and Handling
Since the
weight of MT-15 is only of 138 kg, it is a good 4 kg lighter than the R15, and
getting up to a decent clip is brisk, and
quite entertaining. MT-15 is said to be better on short-distance trips but for
long one, it can be quite uncomfortable and hectic, due to its uncomfortable
seat. Around the corners, it dips in and out with precision and eagerness, and
its taut and stable road manners promises to be impressive even while filtering
through traffic on the daily commute.
Verdict
It looks good, has a smooth and refined engine, and is
a taut handler. Based on its look, there is not a single space to complain. But
the price of the bike is extremely high. At this price, you can get a bigger
and more powerful 250cc engine, which offers more performance and better
cruising ability.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and the Pulsar NS 200 are
considerably less expensive than MT-15. And Back seat is slightly uncomfortable
for long distance trips.
